International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF)International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF)FIAPF is a non-profit organisation. Its Secretariat is located in Paris, France. The organisation started in 1933. FIAPF's members are 26 producers' organization from 23 countries on four continents, FIAPF is the only organisation of film and television producers with a global reach. FIAPF's mandate is to represent the economic, legal and regulatory interests which film and TV production industries in four continents have in common. FIAPF is also a regulator of international film festivals, including some of the world's most significant ones. FIAPF membership confirms high-level of the event and shows its compliance with world standards. It concerns the principles of program forming, jury’s work, media coverage and series of technical aspects – such as festival facilities, equipment, insurance, storage and transportation of mediums etc. Accredited festivals are expected to implement standards that are given below:
FIAPF's role is also to support some festivals' efforts in achieving higher standards over time, despite economic or programming challenges which often stem from a combination of unfavourable geopolitical location, budgets. This is particularly relevant in the context of the unequal levels of resources and opportunities between film festivals in the Southern and Northern hemispheres.
