FICC Jury

The International Federation of Film Societies was founded has been set up in 1947 during the first film festival at Cannes 60 years ago and set up its main office in Paris. With little money but with a lot of enthusiasm the organisation has survived ups and downs but has through the years served as an important meeting point for film society people from all over the world.

The aim of the association is to develop close co-operation between its members, to maintain the presentation, distribution and study of films in the sense of culture, art and social development.

Famous film directors like Francois Truffaut and Theo Angelopoulos have served as presidents of the organisation and today’s “Cultural” president of the FICC is Italian director Gianni Amelio.

The FICC is now in an active period. FICC members meet every year at the International festival of film societies in Italy. The FICC organizes juries at around 20 international film festivals. The prestigious Don Quijote prize is awarded by these juries.

The Jury of the International Federation of Film Societies presented for the first time at the Molodist Festival -98.
