Based on the novel The Flock of Swans by Vasyl Zemliak, the film tells about the first steps of Collectivization in Ukrainian rural areas. The genre is signified by the authors as a “folk and romantic fable”. The film got a Grand Prix at the Molodist in 1979.
Ivan Mykolaichuk

Ivan Mykolaychuk (1941–1987) was a Ukrainian actor, director, and scriptwriter. He performed in 34 movies, wrote 9 scripts, and directed 2 features. His role of young Taras Shevchenko in SON and Ivan Paliichuk in TINI ZABUTYKH PREDKIV (WILD HORSES OF FIRE) brought him public recognition. His directorial debut BABYLON XX won the Grand Prix at Molodist in 1979 and the Best director award at the Dushanbe film festival in 1980.
