He clearly sees the world he started to serve, and despises it deeply and secretly, changing the disguises and roles so that to remain “clean”. However, karma sets to work, bringing together mediocre political coups, hateful relatives, treacherous subordinates, strange erotic adventures of his wife, and the collapse of the empire he has dedicated his life to.
The film tells about Ihor Kalynets, a Ukrainian modernist poet of the 20th century, who was sentenced for his poetry. The film depicts his day, from the waking moment until the night. The title of the film is taken from a fairytale written by Ihor Kalynets, which is based on the folk tale “Mitten”.
