The research film “The Wonderful Years” explores the lives of queer women in Ukraine in the late Soviet Union. It is based on the archive video materials and interview excerpts from the research projects on LGBT history.

Sometimes the most important events pass unnoticed. The movie follows the events that take place during the break in a supermarket. In the course of this technical break, the cashier, who hides her pregnancy, manages to steal items from the supermarket, sell them at the market and lose hope for a happy motherhood before returning to her workplace.
Also, program coordinator of Molodist KIFF Bohdan Zhuk will become a Jury member of BEAST IFF main film competition.
Young Ukrainian director Kateryna Gornostai will become the main hero of Director Focus. Her short films "Lilac", "Away" and documentary "Maidan is Everywhere" will be shown on the festival.
