Guest program by Docudays UA on the 50th Molodist film festival

Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival is joining the anniversary Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival with its cinema and multimedia program This is Real Life. Docudays UA on Molodist. Molodist visitors could enjoy selected films from this year's Docudays UA program — and The Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Center will is hosting a multimedia exhibition Well-trodden Connections.

Viktoria Leshchenko, the Program Director of Docudays UA is the jury member of the first in the 50-years Molodist history Documentary Film Competition. She conveys greetings from the entire Docudays UA team to Molodist: «They say that 50 is the new 30. Molodist’s 50th year is radical maturity, a field for experimentation seized by a new enthusiastic team. Your powerful vibe is impossible not to feel! We are very pleased to congratulate the festival with a special present, the audience hits from Docudays UA and an exclusive multimedia exhibition project Well-trodden Connections. Long live Molodist!»

In the program «This is real life. Docudays UA at Youth» Ukrainian viewers will be able to watch selected films of the 18th Docudays UA for the first time on big cinema screens. These films represent the national competition DOCU/UKRAINE: As Far As Possible,, dir. by Hanna Iaroshevych; Salt from Bonneville, dir. by Simon Mozgovyi; Tales of a Toy Horse, dir. by Ulyana Osovska, Denis Strashny. Another generous present from this year’s program — festival films from DOCU/BEST, DOCU/MASTERS and DOCU/ART: Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets, dir. by Bill Ross IV, Turner Ross; The Painter and The Thief, dir. by Benjamin Ree, Epicentro, dir. by Hubert Sauper, The Last Archer, dir. by Dácil Manrique de Lara Millares. 

The exhibition project Well-trodden Connections — is the second part of the program This is real life. Docudays UA at Molodist. This multimedia exhibition was a part of DOCU/SYNTHESIS Interdisciplinary Program during this year’s Docudays UA. Ukrainian media artists from Photinus Studio, SVITER Art Group and Ivan Svitlychnyi engage in a dialogue with the visionary developments of the scientists of the 1960s–1980s and the popular science films of the Kyivnaukfilm studio of the same era. The exhibition will be open to visitors on 28 May – 13 June at the Dovzhenko Center’s Film Museum.

50th anniversary Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival is held in a hybrid format from May 29 to June 6. You can attend screenings and festival events by Season tickets or one time tickets. You can also watch films in the Competition programs on our festival platform molodist.com.
