Archival film about frivolous Ukrainian youth set against the backdrop of political precarity in parallel with a search of one’s identity and of true love. The occasional freeze frames that occur in this uncensored footage hint at a desire to stop the time before the irreversible events will happen.

Nataliya Ilchuk, Ukrainian film and video artist born in Lviv in 1985. Graduated from Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains in France in 2020. Since 2006 Nataliya Ilchuk has been making short films, documentaries and videos in which she explores the theme of individual identity and collective historical memory against the background of different social and cultural discourses as leading to the necessity to revise previous experiences and to seek a new orientation in a society that has no relation to the lived past. In her work she is examining the challenges of reflecting the lived experience beyond contestable art conventions.
