Two queer people meet on the train and spontaneously decide to get out in Kyiv and spend the day together. They hear explosions while talking about intimacy and tenderness. They share thoughts about living in this cruel reality. They share their pain. Their youth was stolen from them. Can they still feel something other than pain?

Angelika Ustymenko is a non-binary queer filmmaker and activist based in Kyiv, Ukraine. They are a part of Rebel Queers whose actions are aimed at honouring queer people and realising their liberation. In 2022, Angelika made a documentary about Ukrainian queer people during the war. Recently, they made a new documentary about queer people in the Ukrainian army “Rebel Queers: Ukraine’s Queer Resistance”  as well as a fiction short film “Before Curfew”.
