Taras Tomenko

Taras Tomenko is a Ukrainian film director and scriptwriter, laureate of prestigious film awards. Member of Ukrainian Film Academy and European Film Academy. He graduated from Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University, and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 2001, Tomenko's student film SHOOTING GALLERY was recognized at the Venice International Film Festival and the 51st Berlin International Film Festival. His documentary BONEY PILES, about the lives of children in the frontline zone of Donbas, premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and was awarded Best Ukrainian Documentary at the Odesa International Film Festival. It also received accolades at Kharkiv MeetDocs (Critics' Jury Prize), GoEast IFF in Germany (Best Documentary), and the FIPRESCI Prize from the International Federation of Film Critics.
