Two weeks before Ukrainian forces liberated Kherson, Russian occupying troops carried out a strategic theft, looting centuries of Ukrainian history from the local history museum. While Russian forces continue to bombard the liberated city, the museum opens its doors for a tour of the now-empty exhibition halls.
Roman Khimei, Yarema Malashchuk

Collaborating at the edge of visual art and cinema since 2013, Kyiv-based artists and filmmakers, Roman Khimei and Yarema Malashchuk graduated as cinematographers from the Institute of Screen Arts in Kyiv, Ukraine. In their works, Roman and Yarema pay special attention to details and explore imperialist mythologies. The duo was awarded the main award of the PinchukArtCentre Prize (2020) and VISIO Young Talent Acquisition Prize (2021). Their short film EXPLOSION NEAR THE MUSEUM won the National Competition at the 15th Wiz-Art Lviv International Film Festival.
