Rúnar Rúnarsson

Rúnar Rúnarsson was born in Reykjavík, Iceland, in 1977. He made several short films and attended Den Danske Filmskole in Copenhagen. His first feature film, VOLCANO (Filmfest München 2011), earned 17 international awards at various festivals. His subsequent works have also received a number of awards. His fourth feature film, WHEN THE LIGHT BREAKS, was the opening film of the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes in 2024.
