The film is the first 17ʼ20ʼʼ of digitized video from 8 mm Sony Hi8 tape, without any additional cuts. The cassette was inside a second-hand Sony DCR-TRV265E camera purchased on OLX on 24.10.2022 for 2000 UAH. Trying to figure out how the camera works, I accidentally added to these images my very own.
Henyk Zaiats
He was born in 1999 in Kyiv. After completing his first year of film school, Zaiats continued as a self-taught filmmaker. Together with his partner Lisa Mamona, he made his debut short film THE FRIEND that tells the story of friendship, distancing, and changing relationships against the backdrop of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The film was screened at the national competition of the Ivano-Frankivsk International Short Film Festival 4:3.
