Jon Bang Carlsen
writer, performer, filmdirector
Born 1950 in Denmark. Graduated from The Danish Film School in 1976. Worked as a writer, director, performer with the groundbreaking Danish theatre group "Solvognen" from 1971 to 1978. Has published poetry, essays and a novel.
Directed numerous documentary films that were presented at various film festivals. Among others, the movie DÉJÀ VU won My Generation Award at the Zagrebdox Film Festival in 2017, and the movie MY SOUTH AFRICAN DIARY won the Adult's Jury Award at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival. The documentary CATS IN RIGA (2015) was nominated as Best Documentary at International Film Festivals in Karlovy Vary and in Jihlava.
